نقد و بررسی اجمالی

خلاصه کتاب:

Dr. P. Sankaran, 1922-1979, the late father of the well-known Indian homeopath Rajan Sankaran, was one of the greatest homeopathic teachers and practitioners in India. He published many small booklets, but never a large book. Over the years I have purchased and read several of his booklets, which are fascinating. These include: Random Notes on Some Remedies, My Conversion to Homeopathy, Some Notes on the Nosodes, Case Taking and Repertorization, Difficulties in Practice, and The Scope of Homeopathy. Here we have the collected works of this great homeopath, well-printed and nicely bound, in two convenient volumes.

Dr. P. Sankaran’s writings are based on his clinical experiences. He conducted a busy practice. He was a convert to homeopathy, having been cured after allopathy and ayurvedic medicine had failed. He took up the study and practice of homeopathy with intensity and passion. He studied in London with Sir John Weir, Margery Blackie, Foubister. In Bombay, Dr. Sankaran founded and edited the Indian Journal of Homeopathic Medicine.

Rajan Sankaran has done a great service to the homeopathic profession in editing and publishing these collected works of his father, P. Sankaran. A wealth of information is presented, including The Clinical Relationships of Homeopathic Remedies an extensive table of remedies, complements, remedies that follow well, incompatibles, etc.- much more thorough than the Gibson-Miller tables that are found in most Indian editions of Boericke and Kent’s Repertory.

These volumes capture the work of a great homeopathic thinker and practitioner. Interspersed with cases, every page has something to offer, whether tidbits, of useful information, or intelligent discussion and elucidation of homeopathic principles and philosophy and how to relate them to everyday clinical practice.

I highly recommend The Elements of Homeopathy by P. Sankaran.

Fall 1997 Volume X No. 3 / 117 SIMILLIMUM

The Elements of Homoeopathy, 2 volumes, by P. Sankaran, was published in 1997.

Twenty-six remedies are discussed in the Materia Medica section with examples of cases where the remedy was used and acted curatively.

The second section of Volume I is about the nosodes. The third section is an introduction to the bowel nosodes. Some of the provings included are Adama, Aqua marina, Atrax robustus, Mimosa pudica, Pituitary, and Insulin.

Volume 2 contains information on use of potency, dietary restriction, etiology, pathology, and surgical conditions
